Among the thousands of Israeli citizens called up for reserve duty in the war, there are many self-employed business owners who have been unable to operate their businesses for two months. These are the stories of eight of them, who in normal times run home design stores, and these are the ways you can be a strong rearguard and support them.

With over 60 days of fighting behind us, the end is not in sight. For the reservists on the front lines, life is on hold for now. Aside from occasional visits home, they are disconnected from the reality they left behind, and their businesses are struggling to survive. Family members fill in as much as possible, friends volunteer to help, but the business needs them, and they are currently doing their duty in uniform, far away. Design store owners, professionals in the industry, and home businesses that were mobilized after the terrorist attack or survived the recent unrest need a strong rearguard - not only for morale but also to support their businesses through orders. We are here to prove to them that a strong rearguard can benefit and strengthen businesses.

Eran Spiegel from Tel Mond is a reservist in the Maglan unit of the Commando Brigade, married with 3 children, who was called up in mid-November and is still on reserve duty. About a year and a half ago, he founded Yooz, a business for sustainable products in the home market such as camping products, kitchenware, beauty and personal care products, and the business website went live only four months ago. During October, the business came to a complete standstill and only in the last two weeks has it managed to pick up slightly, following posts and support he received. "The family supports and helps with everything needed to provide the best service," he says. The business was established to do something good for the environment as well, and the shift to reusable is the beginning. He also provides information and recommendations on how to transition from a lifestyle of disposable products to high-quality products that offer sustainable alternatives.
